PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 

Johor Bahru is currently undergoing revitalization to become a more vibrant and sustainable city. The proposed project is based on the Flagship A of Iskandar Malaysia Development Plan for JB city, whereby the chosen precinct is the Johor Bahru Lama Precinct. The Urban Cultural Centre will become the new focus venue of all the happening cultural event happening around the city. The locals and also visitors from around the area and abroad will be able to experience the diversity of culture (mainly on performing arts) of JB city. In addition, the Urban Cultural Centre also act as a public urban park for the city which enables the city dwellers to hang out and experience a different ambiance of the hectic city. Besides, the project aimed to make performing arts learning accessible to all where there are supportive spaces like performing halls, classes, the studio that enable the teaching and learning among the professionals, amateurs and the interested. I strongly believe the intention will definitely benefit the people of Johor Bahru in terms of socio-culture and socio-economy.
