PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 

Asperger's Syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interest. People with AS often display intense interests, such as fascination on a certain object like collecting materials, music, painting and more (source: Wikipedia). This group of people needs special attention in order for them to gain the ability to survive in the society and live independently. Often, these people are deemed to have attitude problem and poor learning capability, which is very unfortunate and terribly wrong. This would destroy their right and future. 

 

This project aims to create an environment where people could interact and connect with the Asperger's Syndrome community, where people could understand the syndrome and tolerate. Besides, the environment will provide the community an opportunity to learn and live independently with the help of UTM's Community Engagement Group which focuses on helping the needy.
